That's right, those leftover gallons and partial gallons of house paint under a layer of dust in your garage are hazardous waste. Please remember to take them to your local haz mat disposal center and just think what could happen! Your waste could become your community's art.
Stockton, California artists are collaborating on a 44-foot-long canvas that will be divided and sold at a fundraiser for the Tidewater Art Center & Gallery in August.
Most of the paint for the "Art by the Yard" project comes from the county's Household Hazardous Waste Facility, where citizens dispose of their hazardous waste which includes interior and exterior paint! These gallons and gallons in a veritable rainbow of colors (although the project did require the purchase of some red paint- it seems there isn't a lot of red house paint that ends up at the disposal site) save the artists and gallery a heap of money while reducing toxic waste. What's not green about that?
Remember folks, keep it green with Simply Green!
