Hamburg could be the Kitty Hawk of the 21st century. DLR announced this morning that the Antares DLR-H2 took off for the first time this morning completely powered by hydrogen fuel cells. It is the first motor glider to be able to take off solely under hydrogen power. The Antares operates with zero CO2 emissions and a lower noise footprint than other hydrogen cell aircraft under development.

Solar energy orders could grow at 30% over the next ten years if the U.S. Climate Bill is passed, says Deutsche Bank. The solar power industry has been hit by the recession, but the bill's passage could spark new orders and new profitability for solar power.

People speaking at a Wind Energy Information Night in Oxford County, Ontario, talked about the possible health risks of wind farms and ways to abate them. With wind power taking up so much of the public debate, it's important for the green energy community to examine any health issues clearly and completely rather than dismissing them as "oppositional propaganda".
