Solar Trackers

Solar tracking devices, mounted with photovoltaic (PV) panels, allow the panels to exactly track the sun's path across the sky and can increase the yield of solar energy installations by as much as 40 percent compared to stationary panels. Solar trackers have been around since about 1980, but their increasing use in both commercial-scale and residential solar energy projects is a direct result of proven, improved solar capture efficiencies.

A new study from McKinsey & Company has some interesting insights for the U.S. For instance: If the United States applied all available efficiency technologies, the country would save more energy by 2020 than is used annually by all of Canada's homes, commercial buildings, and industries combined.

LED, or light emitting diode, technology is something consumers are hearing more and more about from television advertisements, magazine ads and news reports. However, very few people understand why this light source is such a powerful alternative to traditional lighting.
