World leaders and others gathered in California this weekend for the Governor's Global Climate Summit 2 to discuss ways that "subnational governments" can work together to pursue the goals of clean energy. The summit was attended by leaders of states, regions and provinces from around the world, including governors of many US states and officials from Canada, Australia, Brazil, the Ukraine, Austria, the UK, Algeria and many more. The summit produced a number of resolutions, including one committing the state of California to work with African nations in building capacity for sustainable energy.
