About Blog On Smog

After working 30 years as an engineer in High Tech I was downsized by the company I had worked at for 10 years.  I then found another job and this company also failed soon after.  Being out of work twice at the age of 50, I began to reflect on what I had accomplished over the years.  It wasn't much.  Sure I collected a paycheque and the work was interesting but I didn't realized my childhood dreams. 

I didn't invent a product that would revolutionize the world or make our planet a better place to live.  I have to say that I am very disappointed.  I started my career full of excitement and enthusiasm.  But over the years collecting a salary became the most important thing, excitement and enthusiasm snuffed out by office politics, budgets and the realities of work life. 

Now I can't change the past but I can do something about the future.  It is very important that in 20 years I can look into my daughter's eyes and tell her that I did everything I could to provide her with a good future.  So here I am, combatting climate change, pollution and other environmental issues.  In addition, I have assembled a team of top notch environmental bloggers sharing the same concerns about our planet.  I want my kids (and their kids) to have the same enjoyment from our planet Earth as I have had.  I hope others share the same dream.
